93 in. length for modular eight-foot-ish wall layouts and pre-cut studs

Key features
Unfaced format for project-specific vapor and smart-retarder detailing
R-15 labeled performance in a 3.5 in. thick batt for 2×4 cavities
Technical specifications
| R-Value | 15.0 |
|---|---|
| Thickness | 3.5 in |
| Width | 15.0 in |
| Length | 93.0 in |
| Coverage | 77.5 sq ft/pack |
| Material | Fiberglass (PINK Next Gen), unfaced |
| Fire rating | ASTM C665; unfaced glass fibers classified noncombustible per ASTM E136 in manufacturer documentation. Unfaced PINK Next Gen acceptable ICC types I–V per OC literature. |
| Sound rating | Cavity-fill fiberglass improves typical wall STC versus an empty cavity; assembly STC depends on studs, layers, and openings. |
| Density | Light-density flexible batt per ASTM C665 manufacturer listings; see TDS for product-specific values. |
| Thermal conductivity | See manufacturer TDS (ASTM C518) for tested thermal conductivity at labeled R-value. |
| Framing width | 15 in. width for 16 in. on-center stud spacing in nominal 2×4 walls. |
| Construction type | Wood-frame and light-gauge metal-frame cavity construction |
| Application area | Wood- and metal-framed walls, floors, roof/ceilings; interior side of basement and unvented crawlspace walls per code and OC literature. |
Product details
About 77.5 square feet per package (IDI-listed coverage). Primary use: nominal 2×4 exterior or partition walls on 16 in. on-center framing where the specifier selects unfaced R-15 cavity fill and wants 93 in. lengths aligned with commercial pre-cut stud workflows.
ME22 packages PINK Next Gen Fiberglas at 3.5 in. labeled thickness for R-15 performance, 15 in. width for the common 14-1/2 in. clear bay, and 93 in. length as the distributor-listed module. Unfacing removes factory kraft as a vapor-retarder layer—pair the batt with approved interior or exterior vapor control strategies required by IECC and local amendments.
Coverage differs from kraft ME21 at the same nominal dimensions because bundle counts and packaging geometry differ by SKU—never swap square-foot constants between item numbers on the same takeoff sheet.
Manufactured to ASTM C665; unfaced glass fiber insulation is classified noncombustible per ASTM E136 in manufacturer documentation, with unfaced PINK Next Gen listed for ICC construction types I through V when installed per OC guidance. GREENGUARD certification with formaldehyde-free validation and a UL Environment EPD support typical submittals.
Commercial TI schedules often standardize on unfaced batts when the vapor retarder is a smart membrane or poly installed as a separate pass—coordinate sequencing so air sealing precedes cavity fill where the QA plan requires it.
Submittal discipline: keep the distributor-listed dimensions (3.5 in. × 15.0 in. × 93.0 in.) and about 77.5 square feet per package attached to the same SKU on purchase orders, delivery tickets, and photos for QA. Authoritative tested language and code-oriented statements belong in the current manufacturer technical data sheet at https://www.idi-insulation.com/media/pdfresources/1004346_data_sheet.pdf.
