Key features
148.54 sq ft per bag (IDI) for efficient multifamily and production takeoffs
Kraft facing plus Next Gen handling for faster cavity fill
Technical specifications
| R-Value | 13.0 |
|---|---|
| Thickness | 3.5 in |
| Width | 23.0 in |
| Length | 93.0 in |
| Coverage | 148.54 sq ft/pack |
| Material | Fiberglass (PINK Next Gen) with kraft vapor-retarder facing |

| Sound rating | Cavity-fill fiberglass improves typical wall STC versus an empty cavity; final acoustic performance is assembly-dependent. |
| Density | Light-density flexible batt per ASTM C665 manufacturer Type I listings |
| Thermal conductivity | Nominal R-13 at full labeled thickness; see manufacturer TDS for tested values |
| Framing width | 23 in. wide batt for nominal 2×4 walls on 24 in. on-center stud spacing |
| Construction type | Wood-frame and light-gauge metal-frame cavity construction |
| Application area | Wood-framed walls, floors, and roof/ceilings; metal-framed walls and floors; interior side of basement and unvented crawlspace walls where approved by code |
Product details
About 148.54 square feet per package (IDI-listed coverage for E52). Primary use: exterior or interior 2×4 walls framed 24 in. on center where a 23 in. wide R-13 batt fills the bay in one piece at 93 in. lengths.
Twenty-four-inch on-center production lines need insulation that matches the module; splitting 15 in. batts across a 22-1/2 in. opening is slow and invites voids. E52 packages that geometry with kraft facing so vapor-control strategies stay coordinated with the interior finish plane.
Owens Corning documents ASTM C665 manufacturing, Title 24 Article 3 insulating-material alignment, GREENGUARD certification with formaldehyde-free validation, and UL Environment EPD reporting. Kraft-faced products are listed for ICC construction types III–V when installed per exposure rules.
Use the E52 technical data sheet (IDI SKU 1004390) for packaging counts, fastening schedules, and prescriptive references. Maintain full loft, align with the air barrier, and never leave kraft exposed in garages or unfinished spaces.
