Product details
About 128 square feet per package (IDI-listed coverage for M51). Primary use: exterior or interior 2×6 walls, floors, and roof/ceilings on 24 in. on-center framing where a single 24 in. wide batt should fill the bay without a center seam.
Twenty-four-inch modules are common in production housing and light commercial shells because they save lumber and speed layout—but insulation has to widen with the stud line. M51’s 24 in. width and 96 in. length match the eight-foot module many crews optimize around for lifts, scaffolding, and panel lines, while the labeled 6.5 in. thickness targets R-19 performance in nominal 2×6 depth when the cavity is true.
As with every kraft-faced PINK Next Gen SKU, Owens Corning documents ASTM C665 production, California Title 24 Article 3 alignment, GREENGUARD certification with formaldehyde-free validation, and a UL Environment EPD. Kraft-faced goods are listed for ICC construction types III–V when used as prescribed.
Quality control on site is still about gentle fit: avoid stuffing that crushes labeled thickness, treat penetrations and intersecting walls as air-barrier work, and staple or support facing only per the installation guide.
