R-22-class performance in nominal 2x8-depth assemblies for stronger cavity R than R-19 stock

Key features
23 in. width for 24 in. o.c. bays with predictable edge contact in production framing
48 in. module for easier handling in floor systems and stacked multifamily construction

Product details
U23 is what you reach for when the energy model wants more than R-19 in a nominal 2×8-depth cavity but you still want manageable 48 in. lengths for floor bands, platform framing, or modular pods where 96 in. stock is awkward to maneuver. The 23 in. width targets 24 in. on-center modules with a bit less lateral squeeze than full-width batts when framing tolerances stack, while roughly 107.34 square feet per package (IDI) anchors takeoffs for podium decks and multifamily corridors.
Unfaced fiberglass preserves flexibility for crawlspace ground contact details, hybrid rim assemblies, and coordinated polyethylene or smart-membrane strategies without default kraft on the warm side. Documentation follows PINK Next Gen norms: ASTM C665 manufacturing, ASTM E136 noncombustibility for unfaced glass, Title 24 Article 3 language, GREENGUARD validation, and EPD references.
Quality still hinges on execution: stagger joints per manufacturer guidance, keep batts dry before install, and avoid crushing at rim channels where thermal bridging and air leakage penalties show up first in diagnostics.
