Not every opening detail needs a wide flashing profile. Tyvek Flashing Tape 4 in x 75 ft is used where flange geometry and transition depth are tighter, allowing installers to maintain control without extra bulk at edges and intersections.
The narrower width can be an advantage on standard details that do not require extended coverage, especially when crews prioritize clean alignment and efficient material use across repetitive units.
Even for compact tape formats, the same envelope rules apply: clean substrate, continuous pressure, proper overlap direction, and water-shedding sequence. Most failures come from process drift, not from the width itself.
